Zipper Closures
TOPAS COC resin is used to manufacture both sliders and press-to-close type zipper closures for food and general consumer industries. TOPAS COC blends enable the use of sliders on large bags up to 50 lbs. where top retention is key for holding heavier products, such as pet food, inside the bag.
In addition, the extremely high water vapor barrier characteristic of TOPAS COC is beneficial in various dry or wet food applications for the consumer market.
Dimenional stability, this means flatness, is important in all closures types. By controlling shrinkage, TOPAS COC eliminates camber, offering a flat profile without curvature for manufacturing ease with VFFS- and HFFS bag machines.
In press-to-close applications, TOPAS COC blends add strength and stability to closures and do not stretch on high-speed pouch lines. This allows fast filling speeds with less down time, thus increasing productivity for end users. Increased lock strength and downgauging in some configurations is also possible with TOPAS COC resin.
