The applications described so far by no means exhaust the possible uses for TOPAS COC.This versatile material is also suitable for compounding, foaming or processing into nonwoven materials.

There are many different reasons for choosing TOPAS. In compounds made from TOPAS COC and other polymers thermal and mechanical properties could be improved. Similar with foamed COC products (e.g. ready-meals), which can outperform existing materials in temperature resistance. A study by the University of Tennessee found that meltblown fiber webs made from polypropylene-COC-blends showed significantly improved filtration efficiency because of the special electret properties of COC. A potential application for these webs could be different types of air filter.
